Cristiano Ronaldo gives his “Player of the year” award to Robert Lewandowski, in an incredible gesture.
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo was set to pick up the honour in Dubai on Sunday afternoon after a fan vote deemed him 2020’s top performer.
But Tuttosport claim that the 35-year-old superstar, agent Jorge Mendes opted to turn it down.
The reason? They felt it was ‘unfair’ and think Ronaldo only won it based on his own popularity, with Lewandowski being the deserved winner.
Robert Lewandowski has scored 55 goals this year and helped Bayern Munich to win multiple trophies including the UEFA Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo won the Award of becoming the “player of the century”. An award that the Barcelona superstar Messi won’t win in his career.
Ronaldo gave a speech at the ceremony and said: “For 20 consecutive years, I have played and scored as a professional. I didn’t know there was a record to beat.
It’s a pleasure to hear about the records, I have achieved all this but without my teammates, without a great team, I would not have achieved these records.
“It’s an exceptional achievement. It gives me the motivation to move forward.”
“To be named the best is a great honour, I hope that this situation is over next year and that we can have more fun, thank you very much.”
“I hope to still be able to play for more years.”
It’s yet another individual accolade for Ronaldo, who has won five Ballon d’Or with different clubs in his dignified career.
