HBO Max has confirmed when we can expect the highly-anticipated GOT House Of The Dragon. It had already been announced that the upcoming new drama, which is loosely based on George R.R. Martin’s novella Fire & Blood, will begin production next year.
However, a new promo video revealing HBO and HBO Max’s slate revealed that the show is being scheduled for a 2022 release date.
GOT House Of The Dragon will focus on the Targaryen family centuries before the beloved HBO fantasy drama and it will feature Paddy Considine as King Viserys I.
According to Game Of Thrones mythology, the Targaryen clan are one of the former Royal houses who ruled an empire and united the Seven Kingdoms.
Often followed by three dragons, their family declaration is ‘fire and blood’ – and they often left both in their wake as they attempted to take over the kingdoms and eventually the walls outside Westeros.
it was revealed Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy had been cast in the drama.
Doctor Who star Matt will be joining the cast as Prince Daemon Targaryen, the younger brother of King Viserys Targaryen, who is described as being a ‘peerless warrior’ who ‘possesses the true blood of the dragon’.
Bates Motel actor Olivia will play Alicent Hightower in the series, the daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King.
